Abstract
The 21st century marks the era of innovative education; establishing creative thinking aligned with the needs of the 21st century represents a primary developmental direction for contemporary art education. At present, research on creativity has gradually expanded from the exploration of individual potential to studies of economic development and socio-cultural development. Creativity constitutes both the core of art education and a pivotal component of the social creative industry; there exists a close correlation between enhancing visual cognitive abilities and fostering creativity. An effective approach to cultivating creative talents is through the implementation of art education. Currently, art education in China still faces several challenges that have significantly impacted the cultivation of creative talents and have also prompted the need for necessary reforms in art education. Such reforms should be grounded in the context of the 21st century, build upon an analysis of the existing issues within art education, explore the construction of creative thinking in art education, and propose corresponding reflections and recommendations.
