Copyright Policy

Open Access and Creative Commons Licensing

At Cambridge International Publishing, we champion the principles of Open Access (OA) to ensure the widest possible dissemination of research. All articles published in our journals are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC-BY-NC) license. This license permits sharing, copying, and redistribution of the material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided the original work is properly cited.

Shared Copyright and CC-BY-NC License

Upon acceptance of a manuscript, copyright is shared between the author(s) and Cambridge International Publishing. This shared copyright arrangement allows both the publisher and the authors to retain full rights over the published work, including:

  1. Unrestricted Rights for Authors and Publisher: Both the author(s) and Cambridge International Publishing retain the right to use, distribute, and create derivative works from the published article for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, without being restricted by the CC-BY-NC terms.

  2. CC-BY-NC License for Users: While authors and the publisher enjoy full rights, external users and readers are bound by the terms of the CC-BY-NC license. This means external parties can use and share the articles non-commercially, as long as proper attribution is given.

Policy on Derivative Works

Under the shared copyright model, both the author(s) and Cambridge International Publishing can freely create derivative works from the published article. We encourage responsible and ethical use of the content, respecting the rights of the original authors.

Conclusion

Our copyright policy is designed to uphold the ethos of Open Access while ensuring the rights of authors and the publisher are fully protected. By adopting the CC-BY-NC license for external use, we aim to facilitate the global exchange of knowledge in a non-commercial setting, supporting the advancement of academic research and collaboration.
